‘Roadside Tales’ is a compilation of short, flash stories based on real-life incidents and experiences, set in the narrow lanes and broad highways of the magical city called Delhi. The stories have been written in the fictionalized factual style of gonzo journalism espoused by the late Hunter S Thompson and illustrated with images that capture the spirit of the stories and have been clicked on the Indian road as well. These bite-sized stories and visuals take the reader on a journey of sorts into the India of the late 1990s and early 2000s. All stories are seeded in true events and coloured by an overactive imagination and are reflected in the visual imagery and texture of the photographs. It is up to the reader, to separate truth from fiction as they deem fit, on this journey images and words across 16 roadside tales that reconstruct moments set on Indian roads.
